Arrival and Dismissal Procedures SJCA operates with four daily car lines:

  1. Jr. High and High School (6-12) Drop-off 7:00 a.m. to 7:25 a.m.

  2. Grammar School (K-5) Drop-off 7:25 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

  3. Jr. High and High School (6-12) Dismissal 2:30 p.m. to 2:55 p.m. (12:30-12:55 on Wednesday)

  4. Grammar School (K-5) Dismissal 2:55-3:25 p.m. (12:55-1:25 on Wednesday)

Canova Road can be accessed from Old Hard Rd. See the map below. Vehicles with scholars will not be permitted to enter from 220. The turn lane is reserved for daycare vans.
SJCA will be utilizing the Silent Dismissal software for Car Line Pick Up from 2:55-3:25 p.m. Please read through all attached arrival and dismissal procedures. You will need to access the Silent Dismissal program prior to the first day of school; it will be available after August 18th, 2020. Your student does not need to memorize a number for car line. Requests for carpool should be emailed to Mrs. Weaver: Jackie.weaver@stjca.org.
Car Line Non-Negotiables

  1. For the safety of our faculty, staff, and scholars, cell phone use is prohibited while in car line. Pay attention to other vehicles and children.

  2. All vehicles should enter school from the northbound lane on Canova Road (driving toward CR220) and proceed by turning left into the parking lot.

  3. Unless directed otherwise by staff, all vehicles must exit to the right when exiting the parking lot.

  4. Parents should have their Silent Dismissal Car Line placard printed and ready to display in your vehicle prior to school starting. Make sure anyone that will be picking up your child has a copy.

  5. Do not arrive on campus or line up along the road near the campus prior to your designated time.

  6. Anyone picking up a scholar must read these directions. ​



Line 1: Junior and Senior High (7-11) Car Line Drop-off
7:15 a.m. to 7:25 a.m.Scholars who do not have a Jr. High and High School sibling are not permitted on campus prior to 7:25. Jr. High and High School vehicles will have one lane of traffic that moves in through the entrance, along the Multipurpose building, and then out through the exit.

  • Please maintain a single-file, drop-off lane.

  • Slowly pull up as far as you can in the lane before allowing your scholars to unload.

  • Scholars may use either entrance gates on the photo below.

  • Jr. and High School scholars will go directly to the Academic Building entrance.

  • Grammar School scholars with an older sibling will have a waiting area in the Multipurpose
    Building and should enter the main doors under the overhang.

  • There will be minimal staff to assist during this time. Please be vigilant with safety and
    precautions. Pay attention to other vehicles and children.

  • Late arrivals will be required to use the Grammar School Morning Drop-off lanes and
    procedures.

  • Upper school scholars should park their bikes at the bike rack after entering campus.

All vehicles are required to exit to the right.

Line 2: Grammar School (K-6) Car Line Drop-off
7:25 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Scholars who do not have a Jr. High and High School sibling are not permitted on campus prior to 7:25. Vehicles will drive around the Multipurpose Building and unload between the two main buildings on campus. Daycare vans will have one traffic lane and students will unload in front of the Multipurpose Building. Pull forward at a slow speed until you are instructed by a traffic volunteer to stop your vehicle.

  • When you reach the unloading zone, place your car in park and watch for a signal from the traffic volunteers to unload your scholar.

  • Do not get out of your car. Please have your child ready to exit the vehicle quickly with their belongings.

  • When unloading, scholars are to exit the vehicle quickly and go directly to their classroom hallway. 3rd-5th is in the Multi-Purpose building, all other grades are in the Main Academic Building.

  • Keep your car in park until the staff signals for you to move.

  • When signaled, cars will carefully exit the parking lot and turn right on Canova Rd.

  • Bikers and walkers will enter the gate indicated on the map below.
    All cars not in the car line by 8:00 a.m. must drop their student off at the entrance gate by the administration building. After 8:10 a.m. parents are required to park and escort their child to sign-in at the front office. Grammar School classes begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.

Line 3: Junior and Senior High (7-11) Car Line Dismissal
2:30 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.
Jr. High and High School vehicles will have one lane of traffic that moves in through the entrance, along the Multipurpose building, and then out through the exit. Do not get out of your car. Your scholar will come to you.

  • Please maintain a single-file, pick-up lane.

  • If you do not see your child, please pull into a parking space, and wait. If you do not see
    your child by 2:55 p.m., please park, and go to the front office for assistance.

  • There will be minimal staff to assist during this time. Please be vigilant with safety and
    precautions. Pay attention to other vehicles and children.
    *In the case of inclement weather, the car line will operate the same. Scholars will stand and wait under the covered walkway and watch for their vehicle.
    Jr. High and High School scholars who have a sibling in Grammar School will be able to pass the time in the courtyard until they are directed to their designated area at 2:50. They will participate in the Grammar School Dismissal which begins at 2:55.

Line 4: Grammar School (K-6) Dismissal
2:55 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.

Vehicles will drive around the Multipurpose Building and unload between the two main buildings on campus. Daycare vans will have one traffic lane that students will use to load in front of the Multipurpose Building. Pull forward at a slow speed until you are instructed by a staff member to stop your vehicle. DO NOT USE THE BUS LANE UNLESS YOU ARE INSTRUCTED TO DO SO.

  1. Have the mandatory SJCA Silent Dismissal car sign with your child’s dismissal number visible through the front window. If you do not have an official SJCA sign, you must park and go into the office to show ID.

  2. Once you begin driving by the Multipurpose Building, STAY IN YOUR LANE. Changing lanes will result in a 10-15 minute delay for all vehicles.

  3. When you reach the loading zone, place your car in park.

  4. Do not get out of your car. Scholars will come directly to your vehicle.

  5. Encourage your child to quickly load. When your scholar/scholars are in your vehicle,
    remove the sign from your windshield. Vehicles that have a placard remaining in their
    windshield will be directed to park so that their student can be located.

  6. Keep your car in park until a SJCA staff member directs you to move.

  7. When signaled, vehicles will exit the parking lot and turn right on Canova Rd. (Old Hard Rd. can
    take you to CR220 or Town Center Blvd.)​
