SJCA is pleased to announce the following individuals that have been elected as their class representatives for the 2018-2019 school year.
Dear SJCA Parents - Here is a message from our very own Mrs. Weaver. She teaches 4th grade here at SJCA. See her message below!
"Parents I need your help!
I would like to get a projector and document camera donated to our classroom through DonorsChoose.org. Please spread the word to your friends and family. If you have a Facebook account, I am asking that you use it to help our classroom and post the link to my DonorsChoose Project (copied below). If you work for a company that can donate or that participates in DonorsChoose I ask that you reach out to them with our classroom project needs. Together we can get this funded and help our school. These items will be used in my classroom, but will ultimately belong to STJCA.
Thank you so much for your support! Enjoy the long weekend.
To inquire about how you can help other teachers in a similar manner, feel free to reach out to your child's teacher!

2. Anticipated date to clear all back orders. The majority of these backorders (497 units) will be fulfilled now through the end of December. Sixty-one of the orders include items that will be fulfilled in early January. Four of these orders reflect an early March replenishment date.
SJCA is proud to introduce Lands’ End as our Uniform Supplier beginning immediately! The SJCA Board and Administration has worked tirelessly with Lands’ End since August to ensure the quality, availability, variety and affordability for our families and their scholars. We are confident that Lands’ End will offer top-notch levels of service and products to our families for years to come! Our families may contact Tommy Hilfiger to cancel any current or back-ordered items and request a refund if, after reading this announcement, they decide to now purchase uniforms through Lands' End. Mrs. McGinn and Mrs Alicea headed up games of corn hole.
Emily, Bella, Molly, Lily, Dillon, and Braden showed the opposing ninth grade team some tough competition when tossing bean bags to a target during the game of corn hole. Actually, there were a lot more laughs among the ninth-graders than fierce competition-- and we learned that Mrs. Alicea can make 6 out 6 holes-in-one in the game of corn hole!
Inside the cafe Gianna and friends pause for Dr. Williams to take a picture. What a great group of Lions!

Our SJCA Lion Pride rallied around one of its own today and did the Good.
One of our SJCA Lion Cub Scholars, fifth grader Wickus Viljoen, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
To help offset the medical costs that are rising due to his medical care, some of our Pride Parents gathered donated items and had a rummage sale today (Sat., Oct. 6, 2018).
Turnout was great and through this support, over $3500 was raised through this rummage sale! All proceeds will be going to Wickus’ medical care!
A note to SJCA families:
After SJCA contacted Superintendent Davis this afternoon to underscore the tremendous need for a crossing guard at Canova and CR 220, Mr. Davis took immediate action in reaching out to the District team and the Clay County Sheriff's Office to initiate a traffic evaluation which is the precursor to obtaining a CCSO crossing guard for SJCA.
We are deeply appreciative of Superintendent Davis' assistance!

SJCA RUN/WALK CLUB IS STARTING OCTOBER 1ST
Calling All Runners and Walkers!
The SJCA Run/Walk club will meet on Mondays, starting on October 1st right after dismissal until 4:15pm. Students will walk or run laps around the athletic field. We have incentives for accumulating miles starting with just 10 miles. It is a great opportunity to encourage an active lifestyle while allowing students some social time to make new friends and exercise in a less competitive environment. It is open to all students, grades K-8. Students in grades K-2 must have an adult present to participate. Limited 9th graders may participate in a volunteer/assistant role with the ability to earn service hours. All students will need to be picked up following the same car line pattern as regular dismissal and placards will be required.
Registration is $15 per family and handled though SchoolMint. Please contact us if financial assistance is needed.
Please direct questions to Beth Moody, parent volunteer (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Coach Everhart (email@example.com).
