Throughout this week the Academy’s installation team is assembling and installing furniture. If you and your scholar would like to stop by your child’s homeroom class for a quick hello, please feel welcome to do so. Feel free to bring bulky supplies to the classroom during this visit, for example, paper towels and wipes.
The schedule for Monday’s quick hello is as follows:
• First Grade, 10:15 am-11:00am
• Second Grade, 11am-11:45pm
• Third Grade, 1:15pm-2pm

Placard for Family Vehicle
During this visit teachers will provide parents with a placard for placing in the family vehicle for visibility when driving in the SJCA car lines for drop-off and pick-up of students. ***Parents of kindergarteners will receive placards on Tuesday morning during their walk-in. Placards will be placed in kindergarteners’ Tuesday Folder if parents are unable to attend the morning walk-in.
Kindergarten ~ Tuesday, 8/14
On Tuesday at 8:40 AM, parents of kindergarteners are welcome to walk to the classroom with their student-scholar. This is a good time to take pictures and to visually inspect the layout of the classroom.
• Boo-hoo Breakfast. At 9:00 AM, parents of kindergarteners are invited to a Boo-hoo Breakfast hosted by the SJCA Board in Room 117 of the Multipurpose Building. This is memory-making at its best!
Parents who do not wish to walk their kindergartener to their classroom on 8/14 may use the car line to drop off their child under the canopy of the brick driveway no later than 7:55 AM. Teachers will escort children to class at 8:00 AM.
Note for Tuesday, 8/14:
On Tuesday, August 14, all 1st-9th grade student-scholars must move through the car line and be dropped off under the canopy of the brick driveway. Scholars will be escorted by teachers and staff into the cafetorium. Those who arrive by way of a Day Care Bus will be escorted by teachers from the bus line into the cafetorium. Thank you for observing these procedures.

SJCA will have their very own Guardian on campus this upcoming year. The Guardian will have a role on our own campus very similar to what an SRO (School Resource Officer) does at other schools.
Our Guardian attended training with Sherrif's Office over the summer. Training included target shooting, response to an active shooter, and diversity training. The Guardian passed all tests and will graduate this upcoming Friday, August 3rd.
Also, our Guardian has assembled an Academy Safety Council comprised of five employees and parents of SJCA Scholars.
Let's give a round of applause for our very own SJCA Guardian!
Part of the ongoing professional development for being affiliated with the Barney Charter School Initiative is an intensive two week training at one of the BSCI sister academy, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, located in Palm Bay, FL.
